Palworld breeding guide
Breeding in Palworld happens at the Breeding Farm: place one male and one
female Pal with a cake and you get an egg. Which Pal hatches is decided by a hidden breeding power value that every Pal has (datamined as CombiRank,
from 20 for the rarest Pals up to 3100 for the most common in the 1.0 data).
The two parents are averaged with the formula floor((parent1 + parent2 + 1) / 2), and the game hands you the Pal whose breeding
power sits closest to that number. Because it is an average, a child is never rarer than its rarest parent — so the way to breed toward a rare Pal is to keep one strong parent fixed and breed it back with
each new offspring.
Palworld breeding combos: all 4 special combinations
These parent pairs ignore the breeding-power formula and always produce a specific Pal. Each result below can only be bred through its special combo — it never shows up from normal Palworld breeding.
The 1.0 data also includes 27 same-type-only rare Pals, which can only be bred from two identical parents of that same Pal. For the complete parent-pair table, see all Palworld breeding combos.
Palworld breeding FAQ
How does breeding work in Palworld?
Every Pal has a hidden breeding power. When you breed the child, the game averages the parents with floor((parent1 + parent2 + 1) / 2) and gives you the Pal whose breeding power is closest to that number. Ties are broken by Paldeck number. On top of that there are 4 special combinations and 27 same-type-only rare Pals in the 1.0 data.
What is the best Palworld breeding calculator?
This calculator uses the datamined breeding power of all 287 Palworld 1.0 Pals, so it returns the exact child Palworld produces — including the 4 special combos and same-type-only rares. Pick two parents to see the result instantly, or pick a target Pal to find every parent pair that breeds it.
Can you breed any Pal from any two parents?
No. A child can never be rarer than its rarest parent, because the breeding power is an average. To reach a rare Pal you breed a strong parent with its own offspring over several generations, closing in on the target each time.
What are the Palworld special breeding combos?
There are 4 exact parent pairs in the Palworld 1.0 data that ignore the formula and always produce a specific Pal, such as Helzephyr + Frostallion → Frostallion Noct. These Pals never appear from normal breeding — only from their special combo.
Does gender affect Palworld breeding results?
Gender does not change which Pal you get — you only need one male and one female at the Breeding Farm. Some Pals do have skewed male/female odds, but the offspring itself is decided purely by breeding power and special combos.
